Aug. 31st, 2009 08:53 amI think Misha is learning a lesson about what he says on the internet coming back to haunt him.
It's a little funny, sorry. Is it the 10th yet?

Aug. 21st, 2009 04:53 pmAugh tomorrow.
Nobody is answering my phone calls about calling for the "for rent" ads on the website. I've left messages and I'm pretty much pissed off that they won't even call me back. My parents both tell me that we'll work it out, but I just like having my ducks in a row. To quote
grrm, we can't have crooked ducks.
Speaking of
grrm, more casting has been revealed for The Game of Thrones HBO series. As long as he is happy I am happy, or at the very least satisfied to wait on being Judgy McJudgerson, but I am excited about some of their choices. NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU. HARRY LLOYD. TAMZIN MERCHANT. MARK ADDY. SEAN BEAN. JENNIFER EHLE. I'm excited excited. I think this is going to be a really good production, and if it isn't, then I will just have to cry into my pillow.
AND. And and and new season five ads for Supernatural keep popping up and I'm like, damn, is it September 10th yet? Seriously, I want it NOW.
I took my sister to Coe today, and I Twittered about how I was amazed at how little stuff she actually takes. And then she remembered her cactus but forgot the duffel bag of her clothing. (You know, the stuff left to her after Greyhound lost everything else. And apparently they're only liable for up to $250 which is bullshit.) So now I don't feel so bad because while I might have packed too much crap, at least I definitely have everything. She gave me about four hugs goodbye, but since I'm not going to see her again until Christmas, I think it's warranted.
And I definitely just realized that the worst part of this trip is going to be that my mom is going to cry. Shit.
Granted, I don't have anywhere to put it. Minor detail. So instead I'm concentrating on what I'm going to put on my iPod for the ride to New York. I have the Elvis Costello Kitty gave me. I downloaded some Mark Ronson because my interest was piqued, and I'm converting some QAF and SPN to .mp4. *awesome*
Blah.

Aug. 20th, 2009 04:55 pmMinions did it! We got as high as fourth in Twitter's trending topics with #mishasminions. So in honor of the commandant's birthday, I have compiled a picspam of The Man, The Men, and the Angel. The pictures either came from misha-collins.net or
shea, who has amazing logoless caps of some SPN eps. They all belong to their respective owners and Misha still belongs to himself. Can't have it all, I guess.

Jul. 26th, 2009 05:28 pmCrappy day at work. Don't ask.
I came home and watched the SPN panel at Comic Con (here!) and felt tons better. I am a little in love with Eric Kripke. RTD, take notes.
( Some stuff they talked about. Spoilery, I guess? Just covering my ass... )
Also,
sleepyjeans met Misha in her hotel bar last night. If I didn't love her I might hate her a little. XD

Jun. 18th, 2009 03:06 pmSo is it wrong of me to be just a LITTLE pleased that my parents are now being repaid for... well.
Last fall they moved upstairs into the bigger bedroom in the house. At first it was my room, and then my sister and I later shared this room for about five or six years before I moved back downstairs. She moved down into their room since it's smaller and she's in college most of the year. So really it just makes sense. BUT my mother now has some complaints about being up there, which were my complaints from first grade -- when we moved into this house.
FIRST, that every little noise downstairs drifts upstairs, so they have to close the door and that still doesn't help much. Given that I spent a lot of years laying awake at nine, ten, eleven o'clock listening to whatever it was they were watching on TV and not sleeping, I find it a little difficult to have sympathy.
SECOND, it's hot. It used to annoy my parents, but when I was in elementary/middle school I used to sleep downstairs on the couch, floor, in the recliner, wherever, just so I didn't have to sleep upstairs. Because regardless of the fact that we have central air conditioning, it just doesn't seem to get up there. When I got into high school they put their foot down and we started sleeping upstairs. And it was Hot.
So yeah. I feel a little vindictive for being like "I told you so" and it feels so, so good.
thinkatory and I are now rewatching S4 of Supernatural and we are discovering AWESOME things. Like last night, we watched 4x09 and 4x10, and while Ruby and Dean are arguing in the church when Alistair is coming in 4x09, Sam takes a flask from his jacket, drinks, and then the focus is back on him in time for us to see him replace it. AND THAT AIN'T CRANBERRY VODKA IN THAT FLASK, I would just bet you. Also, I just love 4x10. <3333 That climax is gorgeous. (Obviously, I did a huge old picspam of it. Speaking of which,
picspammy needs a better challenge for next month, this one was just not inspiring. :\)

Jun. 3rd, 2009 12:20 pmI haven't written in here (aside from the fic) since after Kitty left, so I probably should.
I'm not doing much these days, just working and waiting for July 5th to roll around so I can run back up to Milwaukee for the final night of Summerfest and ELVIS COSTELLO. But Liz, you never said you were an Elvis Costello fan. Well truth be told I probably wouldn't be considered a fan by most standards, but I know enough to know that he doesn't belong on the 'classic rock' stage and like I'm going to miss a chance to see a living legend on stage. That and I have to miss FLOGGING MOLLY because I have to work on the afternoon of the fourth. WHY IS THE MALL OPEN ON JULY THE FRIGGING FOURTH ANYWAY? I don't know.
I applied for a forbearance on my Stafford Loan because I figured the worse they could do is tell me no, and now I can actually afford to buy stuff that I'm going to need for school in the fall and put a little bit more away in the bank.
Like paying for my speeding ticket. Yes, I was driving home last Friday from taking Kitty back to Milwaukee when the Belmont PD reached out to embrace me. I cried, but only when I heard a sucking sound that was all of my money leaving my account. I deserved the ticket though, so at least this time I was able to wait until we were finished until I started crying. And he was nice at least. But the real delicious irony is that "All That Jazz" was playing on my iPod when I got pulled over. Yep. This would be funny if it weren't me, and right now it's just kind of sad.
I've been using my lethargic mood over the last few days to catch up on TV. First I watched Tudors, then the Gossip Girl finale, and the Glee pilot (OH MY JESUS PLEASE LET THIS SHOW CATCH ON), and I also caught up on House. I'd missed like ten episodes of that, which was more than I thought I had. And now I'm watching Dollhouse. I think Fringe is next, because. Mad scientists, hello.
OH YES and while Kitty was here we watched seasons one, two, and most of three of Supernatural with my sister. It was great because we got to see her flaily reactions as she watched things for the first time, and we got to look back and seriously it's kind of creepy how much of those seasons is really set up for APOCALYPSE TIEM NAO. Or, if not set up, it just kind of fits in perfectly with everything. Also we became doomed, but that is another story for another time.

Title: Let Us Die to Make Men Free
Characters/Pairings: Castiel/Pamela.
Word Count: 1,479.
Rating: PG13.
Summary: Castiel goes the last place he probably should to get help for the Winchesters -- Pamela Barnes.
Author's Notes: Yes, I was looking at the Supernatural Kink Meme, want to fight about it? ... This prompt was '"Pamela/Castiel, with the prompt "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord."' TELL ME YOU COULD RESIST THAT. And thus is my introduction to SPN fic.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything having to do with Supernatural and associated copyrights etc. I am a fan doing this for fun.
( Even though the eyes had burned right our of their sockets, Pamela still saw the angel in her mind's eye. )

May. 13th, 2009 02:44 pmToday I officially mailed my acceptance of admission and assistantship to SUNY, which means I'll be starting there in the fall. *dies* I am nervous and scared and all that. It's the same feeling I had when I went to Europe, but this is more permanent. I am going to be living on the east coast.
That was today's big news, that, and Neil Gaiman once again proves that he is awesome.
I love Castle and honestly I love Nathan Fillion so I didn't think there was a possible way that I wasn't going to like it. But I have to say? One of my favorite parts is Castle and his daughter. ♥
I need a new layout and I'm thinking Castiel because, seriously. But I want to wait for the finale because augh. I'm dying.
ETA: Oh right, sorry. I forgot that I got a free movie from Movie Gallery (system generates it when you haven't rented for awhile), so I went and rented Frost/Nixon. I wanted to get Doubt, but it was all gone. And omg, Frost/Nixon. That was such an amazing movie. I don't think you can really get spoilery considering the fact that it's based on a historical event, but as all good plays (or, you know, movies) based off history, it's not really about the event but the people in it. Frank Langella and Martin Sheen are both spectacular, and Oliver Platt does a killer Nixon impression. I think you should all see it.

May. 7th, 2009 09:32 pmToday I went to CR to pick up my sister. Oh my gosh you guys, my baby sister is ~done with her first year of undergrad. I'm so proud of her, she's done so well at college. She and her roommate are rooming again next year, she got lucky. Abby's a nice girl.
I delivered thank you cards to the professors who wrote me recommendation letters. I figure it's the least I can do for people who found enough good things to write about me to help this happen. I talked to Dennis and Steven for awhile. It was nice.
BTW, I haven't officially accepted the offer yet, but SUNY won the grad school fight. They are giving me half tuition scholarship as well as an assistantship, whereas Brooklyn can't even be arsed to get back to me two weeks after a phone interview, which is one week later than they said they would. Excited, nervous, it's all there.
And now, since tonight's SPN was designed to KILL ME...
( Spoilers. )

I'm putting the teaser image under cut because some people are more strident about their spoilers for shows than others, i.e. me. So here's the skinny: there are SPOILERS for Supernatural 4x16, "On the Head of a Pin" under the cut, and also there is no planet on which this is dial up safe. 122 images plus the teaser, I am not joking here folks.
Although, while I have your attention, you should all go read The Very Secret Diary of Castiel, Angel of the Lord which is quite humorous and touching at the same time. It's not spoilery at all unless you, um. Don't know who Castiel is or don't have a rudimentary grasp of Judeochristian mythology. In which case, um. Well I'm not saying this is the best way to start an eduction on the subject but you really could do worse. XD

Apr. 10th, 2009 05:43 pmAHAHAHAHA My sister and her friends in the Doctor Who club at Coe are SO much cooler than the Coe Witches.
For April Fool's Day they gained entrance to all the buildings on campus and used dry erase markers to write BAD WOLF on all available surfaces, and put 'badwolf' as the username in lab computers. LOVE. She says next year they are putting up 'Vote Saxon' posters.
My sister is one of the coolest people I know.
That aside, today was a good day. I was up at stupid o'clock for the job interview, and it went pretty good. They're at the beginning of the interview process so it could be another week or two before I hear anything. Mom and I went to CR to fetch Gretchen for Easter, and that was pretty much it.
I had to change my shirt for church tonight, mom didn't think that the Community Party t-shirt was appropriate for a Good Friday service. And she is probably right.
I'm contemplating a layout change.

Feb. 12th, 2009 07:14 pmSo my brother and sister's friend Cat came by (the three of us have roughly the same social circle from high school -- or a lot of us at least have mutual friends) to show off her baby pictures! And when I say baby pictures I mean a sonogram. It has a birth defect where the intestines are outside of the body, but if he gets surgery right after he's born he'll be okay. There's a lot of drama surrounding this baby (the boy's parents want a paternity test, and now he does too, among other things). I just hope it turns out okay.
I have to watch Pineapple Express tonight before I get it returned tomorrow. I saw it before, but I wanted to see it again. Sue me. :P
I caught up with SPN. I have to say that if Dean had been my gym teacher I probably wouldn't have minded gym as much as I did in high school.
I had a lot of stuff that I was going to write down and tell you guys, but I totally can't remember any of it. Blargh. XD
OH OH OH the blog that I recap/review for now has a LJ comm that you can friend and get daily links to the blog -- or at least it will once we get with the program. It's

Jan. 30th, 2009 04:02 pmSooooo I walked into the doctor's office today and basically he said, "You have Ifeellikecrapitis, here's some antibiotics." And I went WOO because if they work, I will be so happy. He also said to keep pushing fluids, which... I have been drinking orange juice like it's going out of style. And I am getting tired of OJ but it feels nice on my throat.
He also said that I should get more exercise. Which I agree with, but when my throat is raw from coughing and I've only slept a couple hours at a time, that is not the best time to suggest it to me.
I am watching Dr. Phil again and he has Nancy Grace on. I AM SO TIRED OF HER. I'm over her. And she brings up every opportunity to bring up her ~*kids. Which my mom and I call Giffordism after Kathy Lee, and. Okay, I can see where it has a place on a morning talk show where it's a mellow environment with banter back and forth, but a show on CNN? Seriously. Time and place.
I also finished the second season of SPN before I left. ;_;

Jan. 27th, 2009 04:21 pmI'm not feeling well today. And I'm hungryish but a) I can't get up from the couch to find anything and b) if I eat a big something I'll ruin dinner. If there is dinner. It's usually a 50-50 shot during the week in this house.
I'm almost finshed with the first season of Supernatural, and I love it. I love all of the Winchester boys together, all three of them. I kind of know what happens because I've been very casual about avoiding spoilers. I figured I'd see the show eventually, but I didn't know when. So yes, I love the three Winchesters, and how even though they haven't had too much screen time together, the relationship between the three of them is crystal clear -- I mean, details and all are somewhat more fuzzy. ( Cutting because I'm starting to ramble. )
Currently I'm breaking from watching Supernatural to watch Dr. Phil, and they are talking about ~*teen trends. Currently it's text messaging. This one girl sent 14,000ish text messages in a month and the parents are at a loss. HERE'S A CLUE, SHE'S THIRTEEN AND YOU'RE HER PARENTS. TAKE THE CELL PHONE AWAY. God, even I can tell you that. Honestly, I think if parents took a little responsibility for the things their kids had access to, half of the problems we have would solve themselves. Like take these questions from the mom of a teenaged boy who texted 120,000 times in three months.
"Is texting the teenage form of alcoholism?"
No. Alcoholism is the teenage form of alcoholism.
"Is this an obsessive-compulsive behavior that I should worry about?"
Seriously?
And now here's this one twelve-year-old girl who's sending nearly naked photos of herself and sending them to her boyfriend and inappropriate text messages, etc. They're worried! Of course they are.
TAKE. THE. CELL. PHONE. AWAY. Does she keep finding the phone and take it back? DESTROY IT. TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT WITH THE COMPANY. WHATEVER IT TAKES.
Maybe this is just me speaking, but if that were me in my teenaged years -- hell, if that were me NOW -- my phone would be gone before I could even start explaining myself, and I would probably also lose other privileges. I mean, really.
