dramaturgy: ([SPN] Castiel/Anna.)
I'm putting the teaser image under cut because some people are more strident about their spoilers for shows than others, i.e. me. So here's the skinny: there are SPOILERS for Supernatural 4x16, "On the Head of a Pin" under the cut, and also there is no planet on which this is dial up safe. 122 images plus the teaser, I am not joking here folks.

Although, while I have your attention, you should all go read The Very Secret Diary of Castiel, Angel of the Lord which is quite humorous and touching at the same time. It's not spoilery at all unless you, um. Don't know who Castiel is or don't have a rudimentary grasp of Judeochristian mythology. In which case, um. Well I'm not saying this is the best way to start an eduction on the subject but you really could do worse. XD

There's Still Me )

I haven't updated since before Christmas, so happy belated Christmas/Winter Holiday of your choice.

sal;kfj sorry watching series four Doctor Who and Rose just appeared on the screen behind the Doctor. (Watching Midnight. It also has Colin Morgan being a woobie, as he does.)

Christmas was good. The food was delicious, my family was great, and gifts were a hit. I got some DVDs that I'd put on my list, a computer game called Mystery in London that's unraveling the Jack the Ripper mystery (so naturally I am on board). I got a new straightening iron for my hair, jeans, and a gift card to Lane Bryant that I can use when our 60% Fashion Week rolls around. \o/ My grandmother also got me a Snuggie. Yes. Those fleece blankets with sleeves in it. Those things that my dad and I make fun of on late night TV. We found many alternative uses for it, including a bathrobe, being a monk, and playing Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof. I got a lot of books too! Inkdeath, and A Lion Among Men (which means I'll actually have to read Son of a Witch), and Tales of Beedle the Bard, as well as a book about Venice, and Mental_Floss's History of the World, and books two through four of the Temeraire series. I bought the first book at the same time as I bought Game of Thrones, and we all saw how that turned out.

The one thing I didn't get was Spring Awakening tickets, so I will probably find the dough to go, if by myself. I don't really want to go by myself but I can't really pay for someone to go with me and I wouldn't ask somebody else to cough up that money just so I wouldn't have to be alone. :\ Because there is no way I am missing the tour. :|

I wasn't supposed to work today but Lane Bryant called me in. Bah. But since I'm taking a week off for Kitty to be here, I should probably be taking all the hours people can give me.

One more chapter of [livejournal.com profile] fathersandsons to go. I was working on some icons for [livejournal.com profile] valyrian_forged but I don't think that the set is going to be done before the first game is done. I'll probably just have to post as many as I have done and then post the finished set later.

Thanks for everyone who gave me birthday wishes, either here or on Facebook. ♥ I am OLD.

My interview was at Lane Bryant, and if you don't have one of those they sell plus-sized women's clothing. So I like to shop there. Which isn't really the point. I applied there back in June when I was doing my big job search, and they just called me because they were hiring for the holiday season. Which is okay with me. But I went today for the interview and I told them my availability (basically wide open, for the last few weeks I've only worked on Thursdays and he has me working this Saturday), and the manager said maybe they could give me a part time position, which would mean that I wouldn't have to go back to job searching after Christmas. And that would be awesome. I have concluded that job searching is one of the most soul-killing activities that man or woman can engage in. It's in Davenport which means a drive, but that doesn't bother me much.

Mom, dad, grandma and I went to dinner at Chili's. Dad asked me if I could feel God in this Chili's and I said I CAN. Obligatory Office references followed. It was pretty great. I like spending time with my family. Joe was sadly unable to join us, because he's currently in tech for his play which opens this weekend. Like I told him, the only thing worse than tech rehearsals is being in charge of tech. Ba-dum ching.

We also went to Wal-Mart and grandma bought me my present. >_> Sleeping Beauty on DVD! I am stoked, I love that movie. It was one of my favorites when I was little. I got some money from my other grandmother and grandfather, so I put some in the bank and some in savings (see, I can kind of do this adult thing >_>) and then I bought myself the "Fail" shirt from Threadless for my present to myself. :)

Otherwise... it's business as usual.

ETA: OH THERE IS ONE MORE THING. [livejournal.com profile] thinkatory wrote me HAMLETFIC for my birthday. She is AWESOME.

OMG, want it now mommy.

I haven't been writing much, because not much has been happening. It's been a slow, peaceful week with just me and the cats, and they have been in and out and making the I WUV YOU face at me when I have food and they don't. I cleaned the house last week because I wanted a nice clean house to be alone in (I dunno, something about being in a clean place makes me more relaxed), but it's kind of gotten dirty/cluttered again. Probably because I just bring all my crap out here to the couch and leave it instead of putting it back.

My goal is to finish A Clash of Kings by Thursday when I go after Mandy and Kitty (I'm reading so fast but it's so long ;_;).

I had another phone interview today with the district manager of Movie Gallery. Still playing the waiting game. Whatever.
ETA: Okay, snap, forget that. I have the job and I'm starting August 5th.

I had a fanfic bunny bu-ut I can't decide how to approach it. I think it can be done, and I can do it, but it's kind of like figuring out how you're going to build a set once you have a design.

Yes. I just made that comparison.

Go and read and tell her what a wonderful job she's done. So much love for this ficlet. <333 I can only hope my Lily is half as good.

If you have not read this fic yet and bowed down and worshipped fangirled commented and praised him on his lovely work, you should do so now. And when I say now I mean fifteen minutes ago.

To the Internet community at large:

All right. I've had enough.

Let's get one thing straight.

FANFICTION.NET IS NOT OUT TO "GET YOU". It is a website. It does not have the ability to be pissed off, offended, or vengeful. The adminstrators of the website, however, are people, and I am sure they LOVE reading about how "fucking crappy" their site is that they spend lots of money and time running EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MONTH.

So instead of whining to your Y!Group about how ff.net is being slow again, let's consider that it is not out to get you, it is trying to do what you want it to, and if it can't at that moment THEN IT CAN'T. It didn't pick you to not work for, I guarantee that you are not so special that the administrators of the site would specifically say, "Hey, let's make ______'s day a little more difficult by making the website not work."

Next time you go to complain about ff.net, consider if you could do better and if you find that you couldn't, shut your trap and if you think you could, shut up and try.

No love at all from a very cranky, tired, and ill,

Me

One more chapter and an epilogue to go. I feel sad. Very sad. Very sad in the way that I don't know what I'm going to do when it's over. Like I think about my high school graduation, like I think about my last everything, like I think about the ending of the Harry Potter books, like I think about Rhythm Folk Blues... and I think you get the point so I'll stop spamming your friends page with this.

Yayee! Its another read-in night at my house! My siblings and I will read a book outloud, and ocassionally, fanfic. We did it last Christmas with Draco Dormiens, and we're doing it again tonight with AtE! Mwah ha ha! I will bring them over to the dark side light yet!

Poll:

If you ran a big fanfiction archive (like, say, FANFICTION.NET), wouldn't you think it would be COURTEOUS to send an e-mail to your users saying you were going to delete ALL of their fics about REAL PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY WERE USERS FOR OVER TWO FUCKING YEARS AND OVER 3/5 OF THEIR STORIES UP WERE INVOLVED!?

This is the last straw. I defended them when they got rid of NC-17 fics. I've defended them in the Harry Potter fandom every since I've entered it. No more. They've lost a champion. I'm taking down all my fics and deleting my account.

EDIT: While I'm in a pissed-off-non-apologetic mood, what is monkeymouse's deal? She's got a book published and all of the sudden she's the know-all and be-all of my fanfiction?

Review for Roger/Cho ficlet A Promise is a Promise:
I think Roger lucked into that one--coming over when Cho was on the mend and just sort of trusting that he'll say the right thing. The Orion business was nice, but didn't add much to this situation, IMHO.

Read Snow White, Harry Potter Style. You know you want to. Stories with sentences like, "No matter how mighty Voldemort was, he was unable to bear children, so he hated Princess Harry with all his heart" are just too good to pass up.

Note to self: Do not listen to Thank You while reading sad stories.

Oh my gosh. Read this. Seriously, I'm wibbling over here.

Was thinking of telling off this person, but then I realized that they had to put up with this person and immediately felt sorry for them. Sort of. Not really.

No! Just...no! If you are going to make no attempt to use proper capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and spelling, I am not, repeat, NOT going to exert the effort it takes to press the mouse button and scroll down the e-mail containing your story. It takes all of two minutes to use your spell check. Typos and mix ups like 'there' and 'their', I can stand, we are only human after all, but for JESUS CHRIST'S SAKE people. You can have the most fascinating plot on the face of the earth, but it won't matter if people can't read your bleeding story!

I have no more words to describe how incredibly disgusted and insulted I am. Ugh. I need a shower.

When he came to the Academy earlier that year, Oliver Wood had taken a particular interest in Ginny. He had quit Puddlemere after discovering second rate Quidditch players didn’t get paid very well. He had decided to pursue another interest of his: ordering people around.

:D

If you are a Draco/Ginny shipper in the slightest way, I order you over to the Draco/Ginny Fanfic Archive and read "Caput Draconis" by StrangerWithMyFace and lavish her with wonderful praise. [livejournal.com profile] strangerface
