There is nothing like a long table of speech freaks combined with a lot of sugary desserts.

Four days of school left. I think I've squared with everyone.

Things will be okay now.

I have to ask you all: If I'm writing a review of Return of the King and the Lord of the Rings films in general for speech, what do you think it is important that I mention in this speech that can last up to eight minutes?

"This concept of 'WUV' is angering and confusing to me!" -- Futurama

Indeed.

Maybe I'm only seeing/hearing/perceiving what I want to see/hear/perceive, but I think Joe might like me back. O_O This is somewhat disturbing. That's all I have to say about that for today.

Pizza after the band concert was an... experience. I think pizza makes boys do weird things, because two boys ordered almost the exact same pizza, and what do they do but decide to have an eating contest. God, that was disgusting, especially with Happy Joe's pizza. Icky, it's so greasy.

An assignment for history class was to make a "Holocaust Scrapbook". We had to find 10 pictures from the Holocaust and write down the information (camp, date picture was taken, etc.) and write our responses to the pictures. Some of them were just so... graphic. Haunting. I don't know. It seems surreal somehow, but I know it happened, and its like a train wreck. I want to look away, but I just can't.

Speaking of Train --> Trainspotting --> Trainspotting Guy --> All State Speech on Monday. Eee!

JESUS CHRIST!!!! SON OF A BITCH!!!

I was on the way home from picking up my pizza and some maniac barrels through an intersection just as I start pulling through, never mind that they had a red light. >< Thank God there was no one behind me, otherwise that might have been bad.

Oh well. I am unharmed, Ron is unharmed, and hopefully that driver isn't wrapped around a telephone pole somewhere.

Tomorrow is Big Bend Speech. I have not practiced. Tomorrow I am supposed to give a speech on journalism based on an interview with a journalist. Kay Luna (said journalist) has not replied to my e-mail yet. Methinks I am going to be in deep shit.

Anyone out there a journalist, by chance?

Tuesday is the See Spot Rock concert. That should be fun. I only know of three other people who are going for sure. Oh well, it'll be my first real concert (as in with no parent in attendance). Yayee.

Speech Day!

Waaaah I am so miserable. My throat hurts and I'm crying it hurts so bad, and then it hurts worse and I cry more. Gah. Vicious circle. I think my brother gave me his influenza. I DON'T WANT IT DARNIT!

But, aside from my physiological agony, it was a good day. Danny and Rachel was robbed with their two "I"s and one "II". They deserved all ones, yo, that was the best I've ever seen it. We got to see a lot of really good acts. Both "Into the Woods" ones sucked, which was rather disappointing.

Rachel and I had an amusing moment today. I was commenting randomly...

Me: Yeah, I didn't get much sleep last night... I had a third dream with Billy Boyd in a kilt.
Rachel: Yeah?
Me: Yeah. It was gooood.
[pause of silence]

And then the radio starts playing "Sweet Dreams of You" or something. It was the most hilarious thing that happened to me all day.

And I also got to witness Michael hitting on Rachel. It was so funny, because he'd been doing it all day but she didn't say anything until we stopped for supper on the way home, and she cornered me in the restroom. "Is Michael HITTING on me?!" Yah, Rachel. Am surprised it took you that long to figure it out. I love watching people flirt with each other. It makes me feel like I'm in a romantic comedy (because with Michael, it is doubtful that it could be anything but a comedy). Of course, I'm always the lead's sidekick. Its rather disappointing; I want a fairy tale of my own. :'(

And in even more disappointing news, Jake can't COME to the Valentine's Dance. Oh well, maybe I'll still go. I think I'll get Rachel and Little Joe and maybe Sara to do something with me instead. Because I really don't want to play fifth wheel to Katie, Clay, Stephanie, and Marco. Maybe I'll drag Rachel to see "Daredevil". Ben Affleck and Colin Farrell. In one movie. Cha-ching. Maybe Katie will set me up for prom.

And maybe Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood will appear in my bed tonight. Pishaw, I'm full of silliness today. It must be the DayQuil.

Had speech contest today. Am muchly tired. My group got a II, but at least we were funny. I think I'm going to make Little Joe speak like Tim the Enchanter all the time. :D

So glad that Danny and Rachel got a I on their scene from "The Pirates of Penzance".

On an unrelated note, am also amused that David Thewlis is banned from entering China because of his role in "Seven Years in Tibet". Its been so long since I've actually seen that movie, what does he actually do?

Those must have been some really big good vibes you all sent me today. My speech kicked total ass. 39/40, baby!

[livejournal.com profile] nascosi, I wish you would come back to us. ::laments::

Anyone have any recommendations for a monologue I could use for speech contest?
dramaturgy: (Default)
I have one drabble for the contest. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] lavender_ice :)

My mom wanted to keep me home today. My glands are swollen, my throat hurts, and she said I felt feverish. But the ITEDs and speech class said I had to go today. ITEDs were easy, but my storytelling was horrible. I had 4 crutch words, didn't finish my story, and lost my train of thought about ten times in a four minute period. Jesus Christ, I may as well have stayed home and taken a zero.

What should I do for my prose piece?

I wanted to go visit my grandma in the hospital tonight, but I don't think that I have enough gas. :( (Ethanol, Cyg. ;D)
