Closing was not quite so anxiety pile because someone came in to help me and walk me through it, but I'm not sure that I'd want to do that anytime soon. o_o *swimming in numbers*

My mom and I finally got to the theatre to see Mamma Mia and oh my lord it's wonderful. It's all beautiful. Must obtain soundtrack.

Is it me, or is George Chakiris the only reason worth watching this insult to the movie musical?

EDIT: Right. Comment about it being an insult witdrawn, but still.

Oh wow. Tonight was the variety show at the high school. I think if we had actual winners, Rachel and Andrew would have won hands down. Rachel is my best friend, and Andrew is her older brother, also the middle school band instructor. They sang "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge, and it was just so damn beautiful. They were looking at each other the entire time and it was just so cute. They are both super talented. I thought Kate and I were going to burst into tears. They had a really REALLY long applause.

A close second would probably be "House on Stilts" -- a band of three guys in my class. Cody singing, Adam on guitar, and Zach on drums. They did "Slide" by the Goo Goo Dolls... and let's say Cody definitely knows how to dress like a rock star. Vinyl pants, no shirt (but one hell of a fur coat), and sunglasses. :) I would expect nothing less of the boy.

And Rachel lent me "Into the Woods" to watch. I watched it once and I want to do it next year even more. I swear if they choose "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" I'm going to have to hurt someone. "The Sound of Music" wouldn't be as bad, but. Still. Rachel said she won't do it if its "The Sound of Music" and it would be really sad to do it without her. (Like she could stay away, but. :P) I'm going to do everything in my power (which is almost nothing) to get "Into the Woods". And I even cried once.

Nothing to write today.

Besides to say that was one hell of an algebra test, Mr. Townsley.

And that I am very sad because Mr. Rogers died today. Its a very sad day in the neighborhood.

EDIT: And I found my "Into the Woods" CD! Much listenage is needed!

(But I have just realized that Jack refers to Milky White as a "he" and his mother refers to the cow as a "she". Is confused.)

Do you guys remember the Bohemian in the beginning of "Moulin Rouge" who got really pissed off when the rest of them suggested that he and Christian write "Spectacular, Spectacular" together?

That was Faramir, AKA David Wenham. If I ever stop laughing it will be too soon.

I like the other version of "Make Them Hear You" better, I think.

"My path lead to Heaven or Hell, and God will say what's best. But one thing he will never say is that I went quietly to my rest."

Versus:

"I could not put down my sword when justice was my right, make them hear you..."

And,

"Go clamant from your pulpit, in your classroom, with your pen. Teach every child to raise his voice..."

Versus:

"Your sword can be a sermon or the power of the pen. Teach every child to raise his voice..."
