Is it me, or is George Chakiris the only reason worth watching this insult to the movie musical?

EDIT: Right. Comment about it being an insult witdrawn, but still.

Whoa...that's a strong statement. Personally, I think it's really good...but George Chakiris is definitely the best part.

Movies where the actors don't do their own singing (particularly the leads) don't really impress me. Not to mention stage productions are usually better.

Well, that's all definitely true. And of course, it was the two leads who did their own singing that took home the Oscars...but meh...there are a couple lyric changes in the movie that I prefer to the stage version, and I suppose I'm more interested in the songs than who's singing them.

George Chakiris is definitely the only reason to watch it. Which is strange, because he's not actually Mercutio, and you'd sort of expect to want to watch Mercutio. Since Riff sucks, though, we have to go for Tybalt.

But hey, what about Rita Moreno?

Rita Moreno is good, but no one can compare with Chita Rivera, IMHO. :D
