Sep. 13th, 2004 01:29 pmYAYAYAYAYAY PACKAGE FROM HOME!!
I have had almost the most amusing morning ever. Almost. I think the best part thus far was in US History when Professor Buckaloo slipped on the word God when talking about Quaker theology and the "almost literal translation of the likeness of God" or somesuch so it came out "the likeness of Gollum". I was all WTF? for a moment and then I realized he'd slipped.
Ah well. We also discussed in CW how, as the semester lengthens, the Space-Time Continuum shrinks. Stokes assures me this is not the case HOWEVER I would like a second opinion. Anyone? Bueller?
Package contains:
- One (1) Wicked t-shirt (oops...)
- Two (2) bags of popcorn (I've got popcorn coming out my ears here)
- One (1) Class of 2004 t-shirt (I left that at home, but um, okay!)
- One (1) letter from mom
- One (1) newspaper article chronicling what various classmates of mine have done with their Cory money. I still haven't figured out what to do and I still have the money.
- Two (2) videotapes. (OMG SHE TAPED THE WEST WING AND SENT IT TO ME I LOVE MY MOM)

Aug. 24th, 2004 03:00 pmI can't even believe that I was late this morning to class. >< Only by fifteen minutes but still. First class. And. ARGH. I jumped out of bed (best I can anyway, I'm sure anyone who's lofted their bed at college knows that jumping out of bed isn't so much an option as 'falling from extreme heights'), threw on a sweatshirt, and ran all the way to the Fine Arts building.
I didn't even brush my teeth. Ewww.
Yesterday all my classes were cool. History looks like it's going to be soooo fun, I just hope I can balance everything properly... ::worries::
I couldn't buy a parking permit right at 9 AM because my first class was at nine, so I have a parking permit for Lot Z. Campus information told me that it was over by the hospital, which isn't so bad, because the hospital is a block from the west side of campus, where my dorm is. Lot Z is not by the hospital. It is a few blocks past the hospital and then a few blocks down. -.- I could not park further away from campus if I tried. And that's not a very nice part of town. I think it's time to invest in some mace.
Liesl (roommate) is going home this weekend, and she will bring back with her... our TV and VCR! YAY!

As the description in your Registration Handbook explains, our course is Introduction to Creative Writing: Fantasy. This course does several different things that may sometimes not seem all that closely related, but they do all contribute to a few main academic goals. We'll be learning about fantasy as a kind of literature, using a very broad definition that encompasses fables and fairy tales as well as science fiction, horror, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.
I win.
