If any of you have never been to a wake or funeral or anywhere there is a dead body on display, then you should know that anything you ever hear about people looking peaceful in a casket is a baldfaced lie.

They don't look peaceful. They look horribly pasty, pale, and just dead. Not like themselves at all.

Ray was white and clean shaven. He was a farmer, I've never seen his skin without a tan or without some stubble at some stage of growth, and Alma's wrinkles of all sorts were filled in with make up. And I always said he wasn't Cory in the casket because he wasn't smiling.

So beware. Peaceful, no. Just plain dead.
