dramaturgy: ([Misc] I <3 Ball Pens)
So I said that I would say more when I felt more like a human being, aka awake, but I'm not sure what there is to say. I completed two majors in four years with an amazing amount of metaphorical blood, sweat, and tears (okay, so none of those are metaphorical - I did a little of all of those in undergrad) and graduated. I'm not sure that it's hit me yet. I'm waiting for it to. Maybe it'll hit me once I get a job (my goal is by mid-June) or when I don't go back to school in the fall, or help my sister move in to Coe.

So graduation was good. I managed to avoid falling out of my dress, which is a plus, and I didn't trip while walking across the stage, remembered which hand was my right and which was my left. My mother and grandmother managed to cry only a little, which I am proud of. I'll miss knocking on [livejournal.com profile] kay_cricketed's door at two in the morning and showing her the macro that I just found on LJ or just going into her room and lying on her bed to take a break, and I'll miss being a part of Coe theatre, and sitting in class with Dr. Nordmann or Dr. Buckaloo, but I'm also excited to have a taste of "real" life, and get looking at grad schools.

I think things will be okay.

I started unpacking my stuff today, and... I have a lot of stuff. I need more/bigger bookshelves. Or fewer books. Possibly a combination of the two. I am going to have to take stock of what I have, what I don't need or don't want, and then get rid of those things. It's going to take major reorganization, but I need to do it if I'm going to live in this room for the next year. I'm a packrat and I know it, but the fact is that I am running out of room. ([livejournal.com profile] thinkatory has seen my room. She can tell you exactly how much room is not there.)

I've been downloading I'd Do Anything! and watching, which is the British equivalent of the American Idol-like competition to cast a musical. They did it here last year for the revival of Grease, but it seems to be more popular in Britain. This is the third time they've done it, and they're doing it for Oliver, looking for Nancy and Olivers (three boys to share the role). I'm enjoying it immensely, even if they did just eliminate my favorite Nancy. They did it before with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (called Any Dream Will Do, which I watched on YouTube and loved), and for The Sound of Music looking for Maria (aptly titled How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?). I love it because a) there is a minimum of cattyness which is what I hate to see (and yet love to see, given how many episodes of A Shot At Love I've watched), and b) it's all so perfectly British that I can't help but love it.

ALSO last night I saw the Twilight teaser trailer and all I have to say is EEEEEEEE there is no doubt in my mind that the movie is going to be every bit as yummy as the books are. Kristen Stewart is beautiful and slightly awkward as always, and Robert Pattinson would make me trip over my feet if I saw him on the street. I think the right casting decisions were made. (And I don't care what anyone says about the hair, I still love Jackson Rathbone. And Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser as Carlisle and Esme send me to my happy place. :P) Twilight fandom is still a scary place, though.

So yes. That's my life at the moment.
