*makes faces*
Jan. 27th, 2006 03:41 pmI got hired as a note taker for HoME. Basically, I get paid $75 for the semester by the Academic Achievement office on campus for going to class and taking notes and copying them for another student who for some reason can't take notes. Whatever. It's motivation to go to class, money, and good karma. Who am I to refuse?
I have SO EFFING MUCH to do this weekend. But Chelsea invited me up to her room to watch Firefly and I can't refuse the Firefly goodness. I don't think I can, we'll find out. But based simply on, "CURSE YOUR SUDDEN BUT INEVITABLE BETRAYAL!" I can't.
And I have to talk to my advisor to plan my academic life so that I can fulfill both of my majors AND my general education requirements (oh a rant about that, but I'll continue that when I'm not on this train of thought) AND graduate on time. I look at it this way: if I die, at least they'll say I died trying.
And my rant about general education requirements. As you may or may not (probably may not) know, Coe requires me a lab science and a non-lab science credit to graduate. So last spring I took Environmental Science, where my experience was less than wonderful, and now I'm seeing it in my Design class. Teachers seem to look down or think less of students who are taking the class because they need it for a requirement. Um, well, the school is the one who imposes the requirements on us to begin with. So GET OFF OUR BACKS.
