I just realized that I didn't write anything about my first day of work on Monday.

In short: it was okay. I got more admonishing on what I did wrong than compliments on what I did right, but I suppose that's how the cookie crumbles. I think I'm going to enjoy working there, and for $5.50 an hour, I'll smile all you want me to.

Today there was a hospitality class sort of thing, where a guy in a Blimpies van (I kid you not, the thing was literally decked out in yellow and a picture of a sub sandwich) taught us "Thank you, come again," and the policy of "the customer is always right" and "be clean when you come to work." But, hey, I got a free pin out of the deal, so, woohoo!

Also one of the people that works there is an old friend of mine who was a senior when I was a freshman, and he leaves for somewhere (the army?) in two weeks, and the other guy that works there is a friend of mine from school. You should have seen the look on his face when he learned I was working there too!

Youth group tonight. Means I get to hang out with Joe and Alex. Yayee!

Also, randomly, I found the next "Alice" book at my library. Yes! I love these books! I'm just afraid that Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is going to die before she gets them all written, and then they will be left to some penny-a-page ghostwriter who won't do the story justice. She'll probably make Pamela become a nun, make Patrick and Penny marry and have 3.5 kids (PATRICK/ALICE! PATRICK/ALICE! I WAS SO MAD WHEN THEY BROKE UP!), and Elizabeth runs away to Reno and become a $5 hooker. o_0
