(no subject)

So no new Private Practice or Dirty Sexy Money tonight means that I had two more hours to freak out over grad school stuff. I've pretty much realized that if I want to do what I really, really, REALLY want my choices are UMass at Amherst or NYU, because they both have dramaturgy programs. SUNY Stony Brook has one too, but I don't know if I want to apply for that one. That is a long ways away, I am bad at being a responsible adult, and I don't want to go that far away to some place where I don't know anyone. Because that's how I wind up with no friends.

But it's really really really what I want.

Also, the National Theatre of the United States doesn't have interns. What the fuck.

So yeah. I'm freaking out and when I see my family doctor for my stuff, he asks how things are going and if I tell him I'm anxious, his advice is to take deep breaths. Which is all well and good but not very helpful after the third time.

So I'm freaking out. I'm going to end on good stuff. Good stuff. Hm.

Well I'm watching The Lazarus Project (third season Doctor Who) and the Doctor just said "We need to turn this up to eleven." I'm always good for a Spinal Tap reference.

HBO gave a production order for A Game of Thrones, which I'm excited about. I'm also contemplating the merits of going to see the new James Bond after work on Saturday.

I work tomorrow 2-5 here at the movie store and then 5:30-9:30 in Davenport, which I'm not really okay with. Boo. My first Stafford Loan payment is due at the end of the month and that's okay, I get paid again before it's due and it'll be okay, but I'm just nervous about future months when I'm not sure if I'll be able to pay. I told you, I'm shite at this adult crap.

(Doctor, you can show up and whisk me away in the TARDIS any minute now...)

Hm. Good... ... ... Jared Diamond is going to be at Coe on February 3rd, and I might actually be finished with Guns, Germs, and Steel by then.

I'm going to stop there before I go back into a freakout.

UMass at Amherst has an AMAZING graduate program in theatre. I worked with several people who go there this summer, and they were all v. talented and professional. Based on their experiences, I would highly recommend it as a place to check out further.

Also, Yale has a dramaturgy program, but, as my professor pointed out, it will probably make you boring.

lol. I am not even kidding myself with Yale, but UMass at Amherst was approved by my theater professors at Coe when I told them what schools I was looking at, so I think it would be worth it.

Hoorah, you're watching season 3!

Oh, here's a tip - watch the rest of Season 1 of Torchwood before you watch episodes 11, 12 and 13 of Doctor Who season 3.

Trust me, it will be that much more awesome.

In fact, if you watch Torchwood Season 1 Episode 13 and immediately follow it with episode 11 of Doctor Who season 3, it will be even more awesomely awesome.

Keep a cool, damp facecloth nearby.

lol. [livejournal.com profile] thinkatory (who watched it all this summer) told me that Captain Jack basically runs out of 1x13 of Torchwood into 3x11 of Doctor who, so I rigged it so that when I finish 1x13, I will be watching 3x11. I'm slightly OCD like that. >_>

But thank you for the cool, damp facecloth advice, I shall. XD

Yes but how sweet would it be if you got into one of those places, you went, you made friends AND you were doing what you really, really wanted to do?

It would be really freaking sweet.

Oh sure, if you want to be rational about it. :P

Next time we need to freak out, we can sit on the phone and o_o at each other.

Can we sit there and go OH NOES at each other for five minutes straight?
