Mwah, I love you all. You knew that, right?

I felt really bad for Little Joe today. Joe is having problems with a, ah, bigger member of my class, and being the silent type that he is, he has mostly ignored it up to this point. I have to admire his calmness, I couldn't hold my temper worth beans as long as he has. Well, today was finally the last straw. We were having a "Make Your Own Sundae" for dessert at lunch wherein they provide you with about 5 different toppings and a dish of vanilla ice cream... and the kid dumped his all over Joe. He didn't even bother to make it look like an accident. Just, schoomp. One minute Joe was his clean, lively self, and the next he was covered in vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. He calmly stood up and walked out of the office. I felt really bad because he's one of my best friends and there was nothing I could do. Actually, I gave the guy what-for, but then the lunch monitor started yelling at me for yelling and stopped me in the middle of a tirade. One perfectly good tirade, gone kaput. Oh well.

And then Rachel mentioned to me that her party on Sunday is her birthday party. I have no money. Methinks I will burn her a CD or five. And I thought her birthday was in the end of March. Honestly, what kind of Lizwise am I?

And, Grandma update: They're still running tests. Hospital room v. dismal. Would go mad.

Hospital room v. dismal. Would go mad.

Amen and amen. And your grandmother isn't even in pediatrics: she can't have a SuperNintendo wheeled in to amuse herself with.

Some people can be truly mean for no reason. *is very mad* Your friend sounds like a really nice person!
Best of luck to you grandma *e-hugs*

Hope your Grandma's home soon. Does your school have an Anti-Bullying program? This worries me, as the more this kid gets away with, the more cruel and malicious he will become. The ice cream and chocolate will wash off, but the feeling of humiliation could last a lifetime. We don't take bullying lightly in our schools, that kid should be expelled for that. If an adult did that to another adult he would be charged with assault! Nell

Sigh, we have no such thing. I think the kid got a week of lunch detention, pfft. Like it matters where you eat lunch.

But at least they finally did something about it.

I did a Google search for "Bullying" and found many informative websites. This one: http://www.bullying.co.uk/ looked good. It gives you advise on writing letters to the school, documenting all incidents, how parents can deal with bullying, and a forum for students and parents. Your friend may prefer to ignore the problem, but even if you just discussed the info with him, it may help. Cheers, and I don't think you're a scarlet woman with ulterior motives! (That would be me!) Nell

Speaking of you, I want to make you a user icon. Would you let me do it? I promise to be nice. :) <3

[identity profile] poconell.livejournal.com 2003-02-16 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be great! Diri made me one for FAP and LJ, but the LJ one I'm a bit nervous about ;-). I tried to upload it, but it said it must be in jpg or gif format. Does that mean it has to be hosted at a site like the FAP ones do? Anyway, please feel free, but no topless animations of Nurse Nanako! (Yes, there's plenty and she's very plentiful!) Nell

Nope, I just borrowed the lady from the Blink 182 album:

And no. For LJ, you can save the picture to your computer (right-click and "Save Picture As", just make sure you know where you saved it), and when you are signed into LJ there is a link titled "Your Pictures", and there is where you can upload user pictures. You can have up to three.

Er, let's try that again:

[identity profile] poconell.livejournal.com 2003-02-17 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, the first one worked fine. At least it did last time I checked. I'll check again. Thanks! ::Hugs:: Nell

Gah! That's the one Diri made me. I have all three saved on my user info, but how do I choose the one I want to show? Do I have to delete the other two? I click "Default" next to your pic, and It still switches back to Diri's! Also, do I have to show this avatar on all the posts I make, or can I use each of them on different journals? I'm going to try again! Nell

There will be a choice called User Pic, and if you click the drop down menu, it should show the key words you assigned the pictures.

Do I have to delete the other two?
No.

I click "Default" next to your pic, and It still switches back to Diri's!

Erm, I don't mean to sound condescending, love, but did you press "Save"?

Also, do I have to show this avatar on all the posts I make, or can I use each of them on different journals?
No, but if you don't select to change it on the drop down menu (which is only available if you comment on LJ rather than through e-mail) then it will use your default icon.

There we go, but can I show Diri's at the same time? Nell

On "Your Pictures" you can assign each picture a keyword and then select which one to use when commenting or making a journal entry.

Erm, I don't mean to sound condescending, love, but did you press "Save"?

Fine, smart-ass! I'll push save :p

And here we go, Diri's avatar! You don't mind me using your journal as a lab do you? :D Nell

Be my guest. Just clean up the body parts after you are finished.
