(no subject)

So that very large sucking noise you just heard was money leaving my bank account as I paid first month's rent and security for a basement room in a house not far from the school. I was nervous about it, anxiety was poking, Did you make the right choice? but you know what. The only way to know if this is the right choice is to do it. It's a monthly lease so I'm not tied there for a year if I want to leave or there are problems. It's only 450/month, which is a full 240 less than I pay now for a much smaller room, and that's all utilities and stuff included. I think I'm the only Caucasian person on premises including the landpeople, but I don't really care. It's a basement so it has like one teeny tiny window and that concerns me a little, but I figure if I brighten the room up with posters (I'm thinking more Van Gogh prints to go with the two I have now) and lots of light sources, I'll be okay. I would rather live in a basement and be able to afford to do things than have to sit at home all the time and enjoy my above ground windows because that is literally what I'm paying for.

Old Navy scheduled me for next week, on the 21st for an eight hour shift. That should be fun, if by fun I mean tear inducing, since it's the ~one day flip flops~ event or something. Whatever. More money for me.

Now if one of the internships would just give me a call, things would be -- dare I say it -- almost perfect.

Also, my play is getting read Tuesday night. I'm about ready to smack the sore loser, but I'm doing myself a favor and concentrating on things that actually matter. I know I'm way out here in Stony Brook on Long Island of all places and all but if anyone wanted to come, that would be awesome.

I... don't know how to get to Long Island... help me solve that and it would be fun =) (I don't work Tuesday!)

Go east and if you hit Montauk you've gone too far. :P

Stony Brook is the second to last stop on the Port Jefferson line of the Long Island Railroad. Ronkonkoma is also fairly nearby and is a shorter train ride. (To Penn [or Atlantic Terminal] from Stony Brook is about an hour and forty-five minutes, whereas to Ronkonkoma is a bit over an hour.

Yay! It would be super fun of you to come! You've only been living out here like almost a year. It's only a LITTLE shameful we still haven't seen each other, lol.

Hmmm. I will try to figure that all out. Am I going to have to deal with other transportation that isn't the LI railroad? (More so: do I need to worry about a taxi)

And yes, it's only a little bit shameful.... =P

oh! and what time is it!!

It's at 7. I don't know what my dramaturg is setting up for a rehearsal and I might have to be part of the reading myself. If you come to Stony Brook the train station is literally right on campus so no extra transport.

If you go to Ronkonkoma, depending on rehearsal stuff I can come get you. Otherwise there are taxis there that will jump on you when you get off the train. OH but if you come earlier in the afternoon (before 4) you won't have to pay peak ticket price, which is awesome.

Hmmm.... sounds like a fun trip for the afternoon. I think it sounds like fun!
