Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said that Obama's middle name – Hussein – is relevant to the public discourse surrounding his candidacy, saying in March that if Obama were elected, "Then the radical Islamists, the al Qaeda, the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they will declare victory in this War on Terror." -- Here

On behalf of all of Iowa... I'm sorry. He's not from my district, so I really can't do anything about it except apologise profusely for this batshittery. Which I will continue to do.

Yeah. A guy I worked with this summer, who grew up in the Southeastern Indiana/Louisville, KY metro area, basically said the same thing: "I won't vote for a man whose middle name is Hussein." *facepalm* And this from a guy who would totally have voted for Hillary. The people there have a really weird version of the Democratic party.

(icon not directed at you, obviously. :D)
