Passeggiata, and the Duomo.
I have to say that it's gorgeous here. It is. It is just... beautiful and really gorgeous. Parts of me still wonder what I'd have to do in order to get sent home, but in the end I'm not sure that would be worth it either.
I took these pictures from the balcony in the building on via Fiume where Linguaviva is.
This is looking to the north, and the mountains there.

South, towards the river. You can see the Duomo and it's huge dome there.
Classes have been all right. The Art History one is nice. It's structured like Sarah's class back in London but the speed compared to Sarah's speed is like a leisurely walk in the park. I hope the London group is keeping up with her all right. :x Italian is a riot, our teacher is an Italian woman named Elizabetta (yep, Elizabeth) and she's just. Oh man, she's insane. And coming from me, you know it must be true.
Last night after dinner, we decided to take a little night time walk. Parissa and I wound up singing Passeggiata (and I hope to god I'm spelling that right) from The Light in the Piazza, which is fabulous. ♥ Fabrizio. Anyway, so we were doing that and we walked slightly south to the River Arno. It was pretty much dark by this time, but it was beautiful.
And then there was gelato.
If you don't know, gelato is ice cream. Yeah. The place that was just over the bridge was cheap and delicious, which I am a fan of.

Christian, Katie, Allison, and Parissa with their gelato. Where was mine, you ask? Mostly gone.

I took this picture to try and convey how absolutely OMG it was, but really, there's no doing that. Especially in the dark. But just to give you an idea, that lone little light up there by itself is the moon. AND THERE ARE STARS HERE. I think the only time I saw stars in the British Isles was while I was traipsing around Wales.
Back at the Pensione once again, I decided to start on some homework.

And it finally happened. The corner of my computer has completely chipped away. :(

Also, mosquitos eating me alive. Thanks.
I didn't have class until ten at the Duomo, but I wound up going early.

This is the Baptistry, yes, an entire separate building where people can be baptised! St. John the Baptist is a patron saint of Florence, so of course it had to be really, really nice...

The bell tower of the Duomo.

Facade.

THE DOME itself. (echo... echo... echo...)

This is a copy, the original is in the Museo dell' Opera, which was where we went for class. The museo (museum) is basically where they've put all the statuary and such that used to be on the church/baptistry, because it was being destroyed by pollution and such.

The front door.

Inside the museum.

I'm not sure how well you can see this one, but it's Abraham and Isaac. Abraham has turned to see the angel that isn't there telling him to sacrifice the lamb instead. Jeez, this Old Testament god was intense.
Won't talk about much else, because I was just informed I have a low battery. I found out that the trick to keep gypsies from begging from you is to keep moving, although eventually I'm sure that will stop working eventually. :x Also, we move in with host family today. AHHHHHH.
