I got a comment today from a suggestion I made on the
broadway group (and I know, I should take it with a grain of salt especially given how limited their grip on basic grammar is), but this was the reply to my suggestion of the song "I Remember" for a mezzo (Emily sang it at her recital and it's basically been on my brain ever since):
i wouldnt do i remember on an audition. it gets very boring very fast.
Now, speaking from a directorial point of view, I would say that songs don't get boring - actors make them boring. It is an actor's job in an audition to make the director and whoever else is sitting at the table (of men, always men - usually gay!) to sit up and take notice of them. It's the actor's job to stand up in front of them and find something new in that song every damn time they sing it and make it exciting for me. Because quite frankly if they can't do it in an audition, I don't want to cast them to do it for eight shows a week.
Also, what is up with moderators complaining about people not taking part in icon or fic challenges? Do these people not have finals? Papers? Projects? Packing? (That's an awful lot of P's in one place.) Not to mention it's just damn discouraging when it's the same people who win time after time after time. And it doesn't exactly inspire me to participate.
Now back to Uncle Vanya and history.

Ergo, they suck a hell of a lot.
(As a sidenote, when people don't mention the show they're auditioning for/general style, at least, it drives me nuts. It's impossible to give the best rec.)
