(no subject)

I woke up this morning, figured, "Hey, what's a better American pastime than buying votes or kicking around minorities?" and watched the Gangs of New York.

...Now, tell me again, who won against Daniel Day-Lewis? That was a fucking amazing film, I can't believe Chicago won over that.

I'm sick of being a lunatic over Joe (yeah, saw him marching in the parade today, and practically burst into tears, can you tell?). I'm just going to write a letter saying everything and letting that be that. Because we know how I feel about phones vs. the written or spoken word.

[livejournal.com profile] dmp rocks my socks so hard.

And, Americans, happy fourth! Be a patriot from the heart, not from the wallet.

Adrien Bordy. *That* was a fucking amazing film, too.

No, Adrien Brody won best actor, DD-L was up for supporting actor.

... Must not've been to spectacular if I can't remember. But, yes, "The Pianist" was great, too.

I thought so too, but after checking the official Oscar site here (http://www.oscars.org/75academyawards/index.html), it seems he was up for best actor, and was therefore beaten by Adrien Brody. Odd.

Still have to see both The Pianist and Gangs of New York.

Hum.

Seems I put DD-L lower than even the Academy thought he deserved. ::is so ashamed::

A heh. *checks Oscar website* Chris Cooper for Adaptation, apparently.

I am so glad that I rock your socks ^-^

And GoNY is a kick-ass bloody film, truly representative of the raw American feeling, not the TV-friendly patriotic pictures people usually see. I liked it.

Happy 4th to you!
