Surveyness

Lotsa surveys. Just remember, I did the cut. Read one, read them all. I don't care.

[livejournal.com profile] penny_clear: Worrying about [livejournal.com profile] marcus_flint_ and [livejournal.com profile] oliver_wood_, and waiting patiently for Lee's revenge.

[livejournal.com profile] lucid_h2o: Working, what's new? She needs a boyfriend. (Any volunteers?)

[livejournal.com profile] kjbell: Hyper about kissing Alicia on New Year's Eve. Has honestly been avoiding being at the flat.

[livejournal.com profile] katiejane: Sicker than a dog. The poor girl. :(

[livejournal.com profile] gryffindorwitch: Extremely jealous of [livejournal.com profile] divine_parvati all the people who got to congregate in Diagon Alley last Tuesday.

Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] digikym

Since I've got so many friends (::snort::), I'm doing "real-life" and "internet", not because any of you aren't real (believe me, I've had that argument from my parents), but because I can't justify choosing between yas. That and I just feel like it.

Samwise
Real Life: Rachel would without a doubt be my Samwise here. We had a huge heart-to-heart one night, and gave "Gates of Hell" speeches that would bring [livejournal.com profile] epicyclical to tears. I love her to pieces.
Internet: [livejournal.com profile] rebeccagrace would win here. We click so wonderfully and share a brain. Plus she seems like the kind to have a green thumb.

Merry
Real Life: Whitney. Actually my third cousin, but third is close to second. I have known her for a long long time, and she's almost like a sister to me. Not as hyper as Katie (see Pippin).
Internet: [livejournal.com profile] harumph. One of my best pals of yore, not as hyper as [livejournal.com profile] relic5_5 (see Pippin), and she is the type of person who would come back with a pint for Pippin to adore. So she is my Meriadoc.

Pippin
Real Life: Katie has been one of the best and truest friends you could ever hope for. Is completely fearless and would so get up on the table and sing "Hi ho, to the pub I go…"
Internet: [livejournal.com profile] relic5_5. She's a big ball of energy and I love her to pieces for it. Would get said pint because [livejournal.com profile] harumph (see Merry) has one.

Gandalf
Real Life: Little Joe. He is without a doubt the smartest RL person that I know. He sits in the back of Algebra II and shuffles cards because he's bored, while I sit there and scrape by with a C. Yes, not to mention the pointy hat would look tres chic.
Internet: [livejournal.com profile] hermorrine. Is older and v. wise. You know you want to see her in action, kicking the Balrog's ass. Pointy hat would also look v. good on her.

Aragorn
Real Life: Von. He's very chivalrous and protects me. :D ::hearts her pseudo-big brother::
Internet: Neil AKA The Elder Wyrm. He's like my second father, and I'm pretty sure he could handle 1,000 orcs at a time. Ish v. kingly-like also. He's played a lot of D&D in his day, so I bet he'd have a good handle on a sword.

Boromir
Real Life: Alex. He's a good person, but sort of weak willed. Would be the first on IRL to take the ring from me.
Internet [livejournal.com profile] angelevangeline. She would so try to take the ring from me, if only for the reason of getting frisky. ::licks:: Nah, she really is noble underneath the lust. For the Ring, I mean.

Legolas
Real Life: Sarah D. She's really graceful and sort of makes me think of an Elf. She's not too bad at archery, either.
Internet [livejournal.com profile] queerasjohn. Because… man, how could it be anybody but him? There's no one else I would rather have nancing about on top of Caradhras.

Gimli
Real Life: Danny K. He is so tall the irony is just too big to pass up. Am not sure how he would handle the ax, but I'm sure it would be done with panache.
Internet [livejournal.com profile] nostrademons. If for no other reason that I would want to see him in action with an ax.

You, Legolas, alone in one room. What do you do?
I really don't think I better say it as this journal is accessible to people under the age of 13.

You, Arwen, alone in one room. What do you do?
Ask her where she got her dress, because she can have really pretty dresses (esp. love the beaded one).

What race would you most like to be?
A Hobbit or an Elf.

Honestly...would you keep it secret, and safe?
Yesh.

If you would keep it secret and safe, would you be the Ring-bearer, or would you swear to protect the Ring-bearer?
I would probably end up being the Ring-bearer, due to my annoyingly brave Gryffindorish tendencies.

Ok, you are the Ring-bearer, who makes up the Fellowship with you (of your friends) and if they're enough like a character, say who they'd be.
See above. I have two Fellowships so nah-nah.

Are you evil? Evil enough to become a tool of Sauron?
Sauron wouldn't have me.

If you had to be one of the nasty/evil creatures (i.e. the Balrog, the Cave Troll, an orc, Ring Wraith, etc) what one would you be, and why?
Ring Wraith. "Hand over the Halfling, She-Elf!"

If you didn't know the Ring was The One Ring, but you knew it made you disappear and such, what would you do with it?
Spy on boys. Yes, I am immature at the moment.

Pippin and Merry - are they really okay guys, or just big nuisances?
Hee! Ohsoloverly!

Who kicks the most ass: Gandalf, Legolas, Strider, or Gimli?
Gandalf could kick all of their asses.

Would you rather be an Archer, Wizard, or Ranger?
Ranger.

Who's your favorite character?
Good question. Probably Frodo. Complex emotions there, my man.

If, for some odd reason, Aragorn and Legolas were to get in a fight, who do you think would win (and why)?
If it was close range, Aragorn. If it was far range, Legolas. Kinda depends, tough question. :\

Do you think the race of men is weak?
Um, yeah.

Does it make you sad to know the Elves are leaving these shores?
It does. It makes me even sadder that Frodo leaves. ::sobs::

If you've read the book and seen the movie, did you like both, or do you think one was better than the other?
Actually, I had been "meaning" to read the books for a long time before seeing the movie, but Tolkien confused me with his writing, so after I saw the movie and decided to read the book, I think I actually liked the book a bit better. Movie still v. v. excellent, though.

Do you think the movie was an insult to Tolkien's genius?
No. The Ralph Bakshi version, that is an insult to Tolkien's genius.

Any problem with the cast?
Nope.

Honestly...do you think Liv Tyler did a good job as Arwen, or are you glad she's in the movie just because she's hot?
She does good as Arwen.

What do you think of the choice to cut Tom Bombadil?
Probably a good one. But choice of cutting scourging the Shire? So wanted to see that.

Was the Balrog all you had hoped for?
It was so beautiful. ::eyes well up::

Any other changes from the book to the movie that irritate you?
I'll be honest, I know a lot of people are pissed off about how Faramir was changed, but I didn't really understand him the first time I read TTT, so I was okay with that. But, no.

How about that special-edition DVD, pretty cool, or no?
Completely worth the fifty bucks I had to spend. Not to mention I got squidgy Argonath bookends, so there.

Lastly, what was your favorite bit of the movie?
(FOTR) The Mines of Moria, or anytime Elijah makes that "Going Under The Ring's Power" look.
(TTT) Helms Deep/Osgiliath.
