I take your point, but bear in mind that the political aspect is only one aspect of the UN's remit. The decolonialisation area was such a success that they shut it down several years ago. Also, the UNHCR (High Commissioner for Refugees) does an enormous amount of good work.

Essentially, if you are arguing against the UN, you want to squirrel your motion so that you discuss only the bits of the UN which are about Achieving World Peace.
