So, given that the Potter on the Black family tree is most likely Harry's grandfather, Harry is not only most likely related to Ron, Sirius, Tonks, and Draco, but Ginny as well.

It's only third cousins once removed (I think) but [livejournal.com profile] kay_cricketed and I just spent a good bit of time laughing over this fact.

Sirius and Regulus's parents still have them beat, given the fact that they are second cousins.

God, I love this fandom.

Ron: *DOES NOT LIKE BEING RELATED TO DRACO KTHX*

Now everyone will know what we were giggling about.

They do say 'Incest is the best, put your cousin to the test.'

I just don't think the Blacks needed to actually do that because...ew.

I think it'd be weird if the Potter (+ Black) on the family tree were James' parents. Why aren't they burned off the tree then? And if they didn't suck enough to get burned off, then why would Sirius want to stay with them when he runs away from home?

[identity profile] tonights.livejournal.com 2006-02-16 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Precisely. I would think that if they were blasphemous enough to take Sirius into their homes, they would have been off that tree quicker than you could say "boo." Plus, we don't know anything about Harry's extended family, so there is an excellent possibility they were not all saints.

Well then call it an awfully amazing coincidence, also given the fact that there don't seem to be any other Potters floating around the wizarding world.

OH yeah. That's my fandom. *dies laughing* Too, too funny. Hooray for inbreeding!

Haven't seen that before, I'm sure this has been said already, but - that's a lot of burnt off disowned people for one family tree.

*bursts into laughter again*

... goddammit, this will never get old.

Also: Sirius is the proof we've been looking for that the first generation of inbreeding produces Super!Kids. On the other hand, it's probably not the first generation, which makes him one of the Psycho!Kids.

Both explain an awful lot.

I think Sirius asked Liz and I to quit mentioning the inbred thing. :)

Sirius: *did*
