Measure for Measure was wonderful. I don't think that I could have asked for a better birthday present, even though it was required of first year students to go see it.

The actors were brilliant. The Duke looked sort of like Aragorn which you all know I liked, but Lucio completely stole the show and was hilarious. I think he's got to be my new favorite Shakespeare character. This was a great play. If anyone gets the chance to see Shenendoah Shakespeare Express company on tour, go do it.

I feel really bad for the actors. They learn three plays and are doing them at the same time including two Shakespeare plays (they are also doing Twelfth Night), and put on a brilliant performance to a group of college students, 95% of whom have nothing better to do that shift in their seat, check their watches, and sigh expectantly. How. Fucking. Rude.

Yes I'm mad.

ETA: During a study session for History today, Dr. Buckaloo walks in and asks if anyone's been watching the show Lost. My hand shoots up into the air and I say really loudly, "ME! I LOVE THAT SHOW!!11!111ONE@!1!" He looks at me stunned for a minute and everyone laughs at me, including myself, and he says, "That's the most enthusiastic you've answered anything all semester."

...Well it's true. We discussed the OMGWTFPOLARBEARS for a moment and Erin (a girl in the class, senior, v. funny) said, "What, are the raptors going to appear from the bushes?"

Me: ::thinks "Ooh... maybe..."::

So yes. I have bonded with my history professor over Lost. I feel Speshul.
