dramaturgy: ([Misc] DT as Hamlet.)
For Maxine's class I need to think about a dramaturg-driven project and find someone to collaborate on it with, and I'm worried about that so if you're a theatre professional in the New York area you should do karma a favor and contact meeeeeeeeee, but for now I am just looking for help.

I need to know about plays and musicals that somehow feature mental illness. Here's my list so far:

Next to Normal
Proof
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Hamlet
Three Days of Rain

... As you can see, I need help. >_> So give me some lists, give me some ideas, help me out. I'll even take books and movies, even though I wanted to stick to theatre. I want to focus on mentally ill main characters, where the illness is part of the plot and faced, rather than be something from a secondary character that affects the protagonist (i.e. mentally ill parent of a child -- I would put Running With Scissors in this category, for example) or played for a laugh. I am so tired of mental illness being played for a laugh.

So please, add your own, advertise this post, help a sister out.

Why is every car dealership I look at inundated with negative reviews? I've worked in retail so I understand the idea that people are only going to talk about their experience if they're pissed off about it, but does nobody have anything good to say? No? Okay then.
dramaturgy: ([SPN] ?)
Why is it that when I am away from my computer and occupied (i.e. at work or... okay work is the only place I go) all I want to do is sit down and write but when I sit down TO write I can't even get "bubble bubble monkey cinema quick hockety pockety"?

I just got spam mail from someone named Rob with the subject line, "Why have 2 jobs when all you need is one?"

GOOD QUESTION, ROB.

Speaking of two jobs, it looks like Lane Bryant's need is my bounty. I am basically working every day for the next three weeks except for Thanksgiving. I need to ask if they plan on keeping me after the holidays, because if they aren't I need to start thinking about job searching again, and if they are (which hopefully they will, because my manager thinks I'm a good worker), I have to tell her there's a week in January I won't be working because YAY KITTY WILL BE HERE AND I HAVE TO KEEP HER ENTERTAINED. >_> Although I suppose if worse came to worse Kitty could hang out at Barnes and Noble while I worked, but anyway it's still a long ways away.

I have no idea when my sister and I are going to see Twilight. Probably a late night show.

What?

Okay, I know it's not the point of this article, but you can't make me seriously believe that Hilary Duff doesn't have cash of her own laying around, and if so, why can't she pay for her own damn party?
dramaturgy: ([SA] Moritz.)
I just heard the phrase "cold-blooded rage" on TV. Is it me or is this something of an oxymoron? o_O

So I have these files that aren't letting me delete them, and I remembered a program that I used to have where I could choose to have the files deleted next time I restarted Windows. I can't remember the name of it, I'm not sure if it's still installed on Lolita, and my Google-fu skills aren't up to par today. Can anyone help?

ETA: NEVER MIND. I found something that works. Unlocker, if you're curious.

Why does every sarcastic character have to be coming from "a place"? Why does there have to be a deep-rooted fear of being hurt behind them? Why can't some people just be sarcastic bitches and bastards?

Also, I still don't like or appreciate being on the outs of a loop.

Someday I'll have someone with me to bear my ranting. Until then, you guys have to listen. Sorry.

What are you doing wrong, Tila?

What are you doing wrong?

You are looking for a deep, meaningful relationship from a narrow pool of applicants selected by MTV producers. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG?

I have an odd request to make.

Someone who has a bootleg of PoA, would you be willing to make me a screencap or two?

Anyone on my flist who can tell me whether this DVD and this DVD will come with the possibility of English subtitles?

Look at it this way, Martha Stewart. At least you'll be out in time to do some emergency decorating for the holidays.

...

(Wow I'm really mean.)

Also, my mom and I were watching The West Wing this morning (we both hate politics but love this show), and we were wondering... what happens if they want to go beyond eight seasons?

Question/Begging!

Does anyone have a super good memory or a bootleg they would be willing to check on for the following? I need the first part of the conversation between Harry and Remus where he talks about how he knew Lily and James, when they're on that covered bridge thingy. ::facepalm:: I'm really bad at description, yeah. Particularly what he says about Lily.

Please? It's for ficcing purposes. ::begs again:: I'll have children, give icons, drabbles, anything!

...

Desperate, are we no?

Okay, as I seem to be out of the loop, what the fuck is gmail?

And, a meme:

1. Who are you?-
2. Are we friends?-
3. When and how did we meet?-
4. Do you have a crush on me?-
5. Would you kiss me?-
6. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.-
7. Describe me in one word.-
8. What was your first impression?-
9. Do you still think that way about me now?-
10. What reminds you of me?-
11. If you could give me anything what would it be?-
12. How well do you know me?-
13. When's the last time you saw me?-
14. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?-
15. Are you going to put this on your journal and see what I say about you?-

And the ff.net meme because I've done this before and it's fun )
dramaturgy: (Um. Okay.)
Okay, I just had a thought.

Say two students were using the Room of Requirement to have a snog or something else, but a student comes along who needs the room more. Say they're being chased by Filch or Mrs. Norris.

... What happens? Are the snoggers booted from the room? Does the kid walk in on the snoggers?
dramaturgy: (Mwah!)
I have to ask you all: If I'm writing a review of Return of the King and the Lord of the Rings films in general for speech, what do you think it is important that I mention in this speech that can last up to eight minutes?
dramaturgy: (Sex on Legs)
Picked up an application for the video store here in town today. Am I going to fill it out? Should I try to get another job? Do I have time.

I don't know, I don't know, and not really. But money is nice.
