[21:48] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: Referring to Philip II as "strapping" perhaps going a bit too far, y/n?
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] occultebelta: Not at all.
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: Oh good.
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: I am on the good crack
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] occultebelta: Strapping young lad. >_>
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: LOL
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: But not as young as the Duke of Alencon.
[21:49] [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy: OH

So my mom ad I are watching Patrick Stewart in Macbeth on PBS, and my mom is getting frisky.

[23:21] tooth_fairy2003: He looks remarkabley buff in that shirt, for a man his age. What is his age? Is he married?
[23:21] Liz: Acting is surprisingly physical.
[23:22] Liz: And he's 70. XD
[23:22] tooth_fairy2003: My, my...
[23:22] tooth_fairy2003: I could use a sugar daddy
[23:22] Liz: LOL
[23:23] Liz: MY daddy might have something to say about that.
[23:23] Liz: I, however, am fair game.
[23:23] tooth_fairy2003: He's pretty buff himself
[23:23] Liz: I'll take your word for it.
[23:24] tooth_fairy2003: I used to watch you on Star Trek when I was a little girl is a great pick up line

I don't actually have a smart answer for this one. I just wanted the stupidity to spread.

My mother just sat here hitting her knee until she found the reflex spot and she said, "There it is!"

I looked at her and said, "What the hell are you doing?"

"Looking for the reflex spot!"

"Why?"

"I don't know."

And then I died laughing and mocked her with, "Hello? Is anyone in there?" I just wish my dad were in here instead of outside weedwhacking.
dramaturgy: ([BS] Dance.)
The REAL, LIVE version of XKCD's "boom de yadda" comic, which I have watched about five times and fall more and more in love with each time.

My sister and I just had the most interesting text message exchange.

Her: I know I'm not supposed to talk about it... but I know about fight club.
Me: I just lost the game. Thanks, asshole.
Her: Now I just lost the game!
Me: Consider it punishment for talking about fight club.
Her: Okay

SERIOUSLY. DID SHE GIVE ME THE F_W OKAY?
dramaturgy: ([ASOIAF] They see me R'hollin'.)
So today, Dave set me the hard task of manning his office while he is at a faculty meeting, which consists of dicking around on his computer. He specifically mentioned YouTube, so I've been surfing around there for about the last... ten minutes, but that is enough. Why is it that I can sit there and watch videos for HOURS when I have things to do but when I'm going to be paid to do it I mosey over here to LJ to tell you all about it? I don't know.

I should take this time to work on my paper. I brought my computer and things with me so that I wouldn't have to come back out for the RUR reading that my classmates are doing tonight... and also because I think I'm starting to get on my roommate's nerves and quite frankly I don't blame her. We've basically been shut up in the apartment together since Friday afternoon and I could use the breathing room.

I did find one hilarious video.

There are MILLIONS like this one on just about every outrage imaginable and they're quite addictive. This one doesn't get too funny until the last one, there's also a very funny one about McG directing the Spring Awakening movie (for reals) and another about season five Supernatural (made before the season premiered). We are the internet and we are INSANE.

With the Liz out, it's less dangerous,
Here we are now, entertain us.

it's better than yours.

An update on the karaoke forays of Robert Pattinson, Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann, and apparently Kristen Stewart was there too. Shit this is too great for words.

So at Movie Gallery we have racks of previewed movies for sale. And on our $9.99 rack there is a rather... unfortunate shelving coincidence since we put them in alphabetical order.

"Thank You For Smoking" sits right in front of "Things We Lost in the Fire." XD

I feel SO much better with the antibiotics. I swear, I literally FELT myself getting better. Of course that might have been suddenly being able to breathe through my nose again. \o/

Tonight after I got off work I didn't really feel like going home, so I went to the movie theater in Davenport to see a late show of whatever. I ended up going to see Taken, because a) Liam Neeson kicks my ass, your ass, and everybody else's ass too, and b) there were no more Inkheart showings and Frost/Nixon didn't start until 10:25 which would have made me stay out a little later than I wanted to.

So I saw Taken. Was it over the top, maybe? Absolutely. Was it awesome? Fuck yes. The fact that Liam Neeson basically dwarfs EVERYONE ELSE IN THE FRAME makes him about twenty times more awesome. I could continue my list of why Liam Neeson is awesome but honestly, it would probably start to look a lot like Chuck Norris facts and it's late. It was a fun movie.

ETA: Okay, I should go to bed since I'm going to Iowa City with my mom tomorrow to meet my grandparents \o/ but I had to share this YouTube video of Christian Bale's freakout... remixed.
